The Friends of the Museum Association

("Freunde und Förderer des Schwarzwälder Freilichtmuseums Vogtsbauernhof")

Logo of the Friends Association

For five decades the Black Forest Open Air Museum Vogtsbauernhof in Gutach has been promoting the cultural history of rural Black Forest. It sees itself as a cultural forum for the whole of the Black Forest, contributing to the preservation of its culture and identity. To mark its 50th year, the oldest Open Air Museum in Baden-Württemberg formed a Friends of the Museum Association with the specific aim to provide support for the work of the museum.

The Friends Association’s tasks include collecting donations, supporting scientific work, networking and advertising. With the contributions and donations from its members, the Association finances the acquisition and restoration of exhibits, scientific documents and projects in museum education. In this way, the Open Air Museum Vogtsbauernhof plays a significant role in the dissemination and promotion of Black Forest cultural history.
