Take a tour through the Black Forest Open Air Museum Vogtsbauernhof and discover the life and work of the Black Forest farmer in times past.
Free guided tours for the general public in German daily at 2:30 pm with an additional tour in the month of August at 11:30 am.
More than 30 craftsmen and women show their traditional handcrafts in the museum. Every day there are different demonstrations to watch inside and in front of the farmhouses: from straw weavers, blacksmiths, and broom-makers to traditional costume hat makers and spinners.
Daily from May to September, 11.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Not only kids love the workshop in the Hotzenwaldhaus: create your own Black Forest object, be it a cuckoo whistle, a water wheel, a lantern or many more! Our expert, Mr Lehmann, will assist you.
Main season: From mid-May to mid-September and during the Easter and autumn half-term holidays, daily from 11am to 4pm (last workshop begins at 3.30pm).
Low-season: closed Mondays and Fridays.

Three times a day you will hear a sudden clattering and gentle jangling sound as the grain mill from 1609 is started up. For more than 400 years this mill has been grinding grain – in particular rye.
